The concept of the kindergarten for 40 children proposed by the architects in the village of Tsergimakhi, Akushinsky district, is a modular, flexible solution capable of adapting to different locations in the majestic territory of Dagestan with its unique heritage.
Kindergarten in Dagestan
Tsergimakhi, Akushinsky district
The architecture of the kindergarten was inspired by the local culture and nature of Dagestan. The main aspiration of the architects in the project was to create an image of the kindergarten, inscribed in the context of the territory, to saturate it with meanings and traditions, so that the architecture itself becomes an object that transmits knowledge to the younger generations. Due to its modularity, the building is able to change its configuration for a site of any complexity, and that is why each new kindergarten project will be unique.
The atrium located in the central part of the building provides many opportunities for children of different ages and interests: a courtyard for walks and quiet rest, an observation deck and a recreational area on the second floor for activities, games, and socializing. The building with its natural environment and ecosystem becomes a place where children realize their potential as well as a center of attraction for local residents. Instead of the traditional inflexible and isolated structure of the kindergarten, the architects emphasized the efficiency of the spaces and the possibility of transformation. For example, standard modules can be used to create a "puzzle" of varying complexity and configuration on any shaped plot.
On the first floor there is an entrance group with a courtyard, group cells, a canteen and a gym. On the second floor - recreational area, group cells, medical block, assembly hall for 40 seats, art room, psychologist's office, office of labor, hobby room. The library and administration rooms, as well as rooms for engineering equipment are located on the third floor. The library has an amphitheater with several functions: lecture hall, computer area, reading room, recreation and games area - the processes can be divided by time and use the space depending on the needs of the children's group.
The limestone facades are designed differently for each block: a variety of patterns and weaving, inspired by the folk embroidery of Dagestan, emphasize the connection with culture and tradition. The light, positive scheme is supported by multicolored window jambs made of glazed bricks, which vary in color depending on the building.
The landscaping of the kindergarten is characterized by the possibility of choosing different scenarios. The first scenario - the kindergarten - involves the placement of abstract, fantasy-developing MAFs for games and sports activities for the youngest guests. Children's canopy houses made of wood with a mirrored wall reflect the greenery, turning the space into a spectacular visual place of attraction. Scenario 2 is an elementary school with the option of using the courtyard as a playground for sports and active games.
