The Pulp and Paper Mill founded in 1936 was named after the Kama River, whereon its production buildings are located. The impressive mill site belongs to the town of Krasnokamsk, and the mill gatehouse is a monument of constructivism.
APEX has taken on the mill’s renovation and reequipment project. The process line to be bought in Austria will help to launch a full production cycle for high-grade coated board - from procurement of raw materials to finished-product output.

The APEX team has developed a nonstandard architectural solution for facades. The architects reveal a large and small scale through rhythmical and colour solutions. The impressive glazing space and bright colour accents create a more comfortable working environment for the personnel, reducing the monotony of the general production architecture.
The mill will implement a system for full cycle, non-waste clean production of FBB coated board. To put this concept into practice and meet all the process requirements, it is necessary to ensure special accuracy and coordination of efforts by all the design divisions, including those of Austrian and Finnish partners. This can be achieved by APEX applying BIM technologies from the very start of the project. They allow monitoring of the entire system, including the project economics.
