Avant-garde. Modernity. Bravery. Function. Laconism. The shape of the building places an emphasis on the acute angle which is articulated in the material. The surface of its façade is made of metal: brass and its analogues. The choice of hue was not random since the entire Khavsko-Shablovsky district is presented in yellow. We had to incorporate harmoniously the building into an already-existing housing development, applying, at the same time, modern and bright material. It’s somewhat a “secret façade” because one is able to see it only approaching the building. From all the other sides one can see multi-texture brick that is highlighted by an accurate and rhythmic pattern of windows, all this creating the background for metal.

The main idea behind the façade is to maintain the scale of the street by visually dividing the volume into two levels. The first level is made of brick and it underlines the high-level line of the existing historical building. The second level forms a bright image of the building that supports and further develops the chosen building plan. Its inclined roof creates an image of a historical building complex. In order to lighten up the volume of the building we have chosen zinc as a material.
